As lead designer on this project, I was responsible for bringing The Chartered Governance Institute’s updated identity to life across their digital and marketing ecosystem. CGI, a qualifying and membership body for governance professionals across several common law jurisdictions, aimed to grow their online community while seeking a clearer, more distinctive visual expression of their brand.

Shaping a consistent brand experience

To support their ambitions, I developed a comprehensive brand toolkit that defined a unified look and feel across all touchpoints. This included refreshed style guides, social media campaigns, marketing materials, digital banners, and a bespoke system of photography and iconography. I also applied this new visual direction to their website, elevating the user experience and integrating the world’s first Governance Online Community platform — a space designed to help members connect and collaborate globally.

Designing a Global Digital Community

The launch of the new eCommunity marked a major milestone for CGI. Since going live, the platform has driven a 645% growth in community membership, now boasting over 4,000 active members and achieving an A+ global engagement benchmark score. It has become a vibrant, international hub for governance professionals — and a proud example of how design can help shape and strengthen a global community.
